Playa Ostional, Costa Rica, North Pacific Region (Nicoya/Guanacaste)

Playa Ostional is a 7km long beach and part of the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge, known for the Olive Riddley sea turtles that arrive by the the thousands each year to lay their eggs along the beach at Ostional.

The waves get good at the peak directly in front of the soccer field.  During the the turtle egg laying season, beaches are closed to surfing.

There a several small hotels, cabinas and vacation rentals to choose from in Playa Ostional.
