Playa Negra, Costa Rica is a small beach town in front of an incredible hollow right reef break, just a few kilometers outside of the town of Paraiso, Costa Rica.
The waves in Playa Negra are good, but tend to get crowded. There are several reef breaks within walking distance that can offer waves without the crowds. Playa Avellanas and Junquillal are both a short drive from Playa Negra. Hotel Playa Negra is located directly in front of the surfing break.
